Climate neutrality

Productive, sustainable and climate neutral

When we started producing sofa beds in 1990, the buzzword ‘sustainability’ wasn’t yet a part of the usual vocabulary of general corporate communication. It was rather the ambition of the founder to create furniture that has no expiry date and stylistically and qualitatively lasts for many years. This resulted in a collection which is based on high quality materials from local suppliers. 60% of the materials come from suppliers which are only 50 km from our production facility in Hochstadt am Main. The entire production of our furniture, from the frame and cutting to the upholstery takes place in Hochstadt am Main in Germany with only a short distance between each production process. It gives us full control over carefully using our materials and resources. Removable covers with little effort ensure that our furniture is ready for a second life.

Acting responsibly, conscientiously and with foresight when it comes to the climate and the environment has always been a matter close to our hearts, from which we constantly derive concrete measures. In addition to the continuous reduction of CO2 emissions, these measures include, for example, the generation of electricity via photovoltaics, the utilisation of wood waste in our internal heating system, the use of recycled and recyclable packaging film and the continuously increasing percentage of recycled fabrics in our upholstered collections. And, of course, we continue to focus on our domestic production and mainly use regional materials from local suppliers. In cooperation with the Society for Climate Protection in the wood industry, we have been calculating our CO2 emissions since 2021. We offset the resulting CO2 emissions by supporting climate protection projects in Europe and South America. For further reductions of our CO2 emissions, we plan additional projects every year.

We are members of the climate pact and have been certified as a climate-neutral manufacturer since 2021.
